Indigo Spell Review (No spoilers)

So I am certain that my fellow charmed ones and I are not the only ones feeling the post Adrian withdrawal symptoms after reading the Indigo Spell by Richelle Mead. I have to say this is the best book that she has written in the Bloodlines thus far.

Richelle  gave me more than I was expecting in the book. She totally threw me off by exceeding everything I was hoping for and more. I found myself giggling page after page like a school girl. There was so much of Adrian Ivashkov that I don't believe I went through no more than 5 pages without seeing his name. I got my fix for sure.

While reading I am ashamed to admit that for a while there I forgot who Edward Cullen was. Jace Wayland, William Owen Herondale, Robin Goodfellow?!? Their names sound vaguely familiar in the shadow of Adrian.

As much as I enjoyed and relished being taken into Sydney's world with Adrian's constant presence. I am very cautious and skeptical of what Mead will have in store for us in the next book. She did rip out hearts out with Dimitri in the Vampire Academy so with Mead's previous track record of drama (that we love) I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel in her next installment. All I can see in hell fire. I predict that Mead will pull the rug from under our feet whilst throwing a bucket of ice water when we are bathing in the bliss of Sydrian. (Its a sadistic pleasure for us readers.)

In the next installment I think Zoe will be hurling a spanner in the mix. I think re-education is perhaps in the future for Sydney. But I think Zoe who may be the one holding the spoon and stirring the pot might initiate to redeem herself and hopefully side with her sister. I also think love might be in the cards for Zoe and the new dhampir.

What I hope for in the next installment is for Jill and Eddie to finally admit to their feelings and live happily ever after. I see Sydney dabbling in more magic which could be the reason why she has been questioning her loyalty to the Alchemists for the magic is breaking the tattoos spell. I want Zoe to come to her senses and realise that the Moroi and Dhampirs are not what she was conditioned to believe. And of course I want more of Adrian.

Kudos to Mead for raising the bar higher than Edward Cullen. Thanks, now I will never be satisfied with any man and will never get a boyfriend (lol.)  I may have spent a lot of my time in Forks but now I would rather sleep perchance to dream just in case Adrian stumbles upon me while dream walking.

  1. Excellent review! I loved it! Right on with how I feel too! I'm pretty sure our hearts are gonna be drug through the mud before we get our happy ending.
